we have a very close neighborhood
when we need help, we rarely even need to call
everyone just knows
my mother died when I was just thirty-something
she had been ill for 7 years prior
so as an only child
my role as caregiver came to me very quickly in life
imagine, then, if you will
how pleased I was to meet my neighbor's wife
she was so much like my own mother
she lived her life with such grace
so
when it was her time, I gave her the last gift that I could
I let people know
I went to their homes, and I spoke quietly and calmly
and I tried to approach the task as she might have
...with grace.
Let my soul smile through my heart and my heart smile through my eyes,
that I may scatter rich smiles in sad hearts.
~ Paramahansa Yogananda
take a moment to honour those women in your lives - those who have come before us
let our thanks to them be
our own life
lived
....with grace
