If I'm not mistaken the flowers are snapdragons. I'd love to be in California for the quilt show but I live in North of Toronto so the commute just won't work :(
Snapdragons (or dragon snappers as my daughter called them when she was little). A totally cool flower that you can use as tiny finger puppets. The leaf? Uhhhh, lettuce?
