Fabric Giveaway + Field Trip + Fun Friends

fun friends
are those people that are always game
and always willing
they're up for a last minute dinner, and bring a friend for the dog to play with
and bring the wine
they're willing to walk on the bay in the dark and throw the wet car in the back of the car when they go
they're willing to help you sew when you're on a deadline
and more than happy to pick you up and drive all over LA for a day of fabric
this week, one of these such friends decided we should go to
this shop has more Kokka bolts that I have ever seen in one place
there are tons of unusual trims and bindings
and interesting garment and bag patterns that you may or may not have ever seen
the cottons are very fun also
and they have a classroom in the back
that I can show you in the next post
but while we were there
if you shop at beyond the reef
all in all, it was another fun filled day with one of
those
kind of friends
I also wanted to let you know I have been working with Julie's book
Skipping the Borders
and she has invited me to be a part of a blog tour
so be sure to look for that, too
it came together beautifully - good fabric, good book instructions - good donation quilt!
so this weekend, even if it is Sunday, we are going to have a quick giveaway of a large lovely bundle
a

please, leave a comment sharing with all of us
the last impromptu outing you had with a
fun friend
and we will throw your name in the hat
for this big cute bundle of fabrics

and if you should be in southern california some time and you want to visit
let me just warn you
that it's only a few doors down from

natalie.

to receive the fabric bundle, you must be a follower of the blog (and hopefully fb)
and leave a comment
drawing will occur Tuesday morning
after the holiday

What a fun trip you had! We don't have that many fabric shops where I live and certainly not with that amount of fabric!
Last week a group of us hopped on the train and went to the rag market in Birmingham (UK) we had a lot of fun (and spent a lot of money between us!)

Always have trouble with the code below that makes sure that I'm not a robot. Anyway, my impromptu
"friend" outing was just that. My short trip home became even shorter and my plans all askew due to an unexpected weather delay in my flight plans. My "friend" outing was with a dear friend for "tea" and was wonderful. deanie dot dreams at gmail dot com

I have not heard of Momen+. But, you can be sure I will be visiting it soon. Last impromptu fling was a movie with a girlfriend. A nice and cool way to beat the heat. Hope you are having a good weekend.

Haven't had an impromptu outing in quite some time. The last one I can think of was when I was over near a friends house this past fall and called to see if she wanted to do lunch. We met at a local restaurant and had a wonderful time.

Thanks!

You really had a fun trip. I am an email follower and I do follow you on FB. My last fun trip was with my (ok our) elder daughter and we went to the local shopping mall for an hours browse and ended up staying the whole day and had to pay around $25.00 for parking but it was so worth it we had such a good time.

Your trip sounds great. A few weeks ago we had an impromtu trip to the shore to meet some friends on vacation there. We had a great time. I follow by e-mail.

Fabric Fun is the best kind of fun! It's been way too long since I've done anything impromptu. The last unexpected journey I have taken in when my daughter came home from college for a couple of days and we went shopping and each ended up with a new bottle of perfume...something we have never done but now vow to make it a yearly event!

Now that is what I call a fun trip! The last impromptu trip I took was with a few friends to our LQS which happens to be an hour away. We shopped and then went to lunch. We had a great time. Thank you for the chance to win some beautiful fabric.

My outing was just yesterday with my sister (who happens to be my best friend). We were on our way to lunch and saw a sign for a local "Trade Day" that was nearby. We stopped and had such a great time. We had coney dogs, lemonade and split a funnel cake for lunch. I bought a set of vintage pyrex bowls just like a set our grandmother had. It was a great day!!!

My fun getaway was with my long-time friend Chris two days ago on Friday. We had lunch together and lots of fun catching up!

My fun friends don't live anywhere near here, but when I go there, or they visit here, we go to eat at places I would never go otherwise...like the little sushi place where we sat outside, even though it was kinda warm out and we stayed into the dark of night and got to see the blue moon. So much fun and tasty too.

How fun! I got Julie's book when she came to Quilt in a Day. It looks great! I have not really had an impromptu adventure. The closest thing was a late night trip with my Sis in law to Chili's for a Fudge Brownie Sundae. :)

I'm on an impromptu adventure right now....we got up this morning and decided to take a drive. We ended up in Shipshawana IN and there are lost of quilts here :)

While on vacation a few weeks back I also had a friend drive me all over the place looking at fabric...it was a ball.

I can't remember the last impromptu thing I did away from my neighborhood. In the neighborhood is another thing, but what happens on the street stays on the street...

This sounds fun. I like it when we are out and about going to Dr. and running errands and say - let's stop here and go in - or let's stop here and try out this place to eat. The last time we did this was Friday - we popped into a retail outlet and a health food shop just for fun.

Finishing my work and then going to the AQS Quilt show in Grand Rapids, MI. The best show I have ever been to.

We're retired & are always busy. When we find ourselves with nothing scheduled, we'll go to the movies.

Sounds like a fun trip! I can't remember the last time I had a spontaneous fun trip.

The last grand adventure...one late afternoon this summer we had storm after storm, and decided to go chase rainbows when the storms ended. You can imagine our delight when we left the house and looked up to see a giant double rainbow! So impressive that it even was documented on our late night local news! We didn't travel far, but the adventure is a treasure of the summer.

My best friend and I often have impromptu garage saleing trips together. We find such fun and random things, and I am always on the lookout for creative ways to use things we find in my craft room for decoration or organization. Sometimes we stop at a farmers market or a pet adoption lol. Ya just never know with us... It's just so fun to hop in the car and drive around the city, never knowing what we'll find. :0)

Thanks for the opportunity for the giveaway! L-O-V-E this new line!!

I don't really do impromptu ... I am a planner. My last short notice planned outing was to a lovely Handmade Baby & Kids Market with my mum and sister. We left all the kids with my Husband and took off together and had a ball, we shopped, got inspired then went to have lunch together and talk about all we had seen. I love a good girls day and appreciate them even more now that a kid free day is so rare.

Oh I'm so jealous...what fun! I live in a big city but it seems like all of the quilting shops around me are closing for some reason, so I have to resort to online fabric eye candy. Boo. Thanks for the opportunity!

A friend I haven't seen in ages took me for a lovely long lunch to catch up last week. The the food was delicious, the company was lovely, and the conversation was hilarious. The weather outside was perfect, so after we ate we walked back up to my apartment (I live in New York City).

It sounds like it's worth making a trip to CA just to go there!! I often have impromptu coffees with friends...last minute text and they are often the bext kind of meetings!

My family and friends can never make plans they always fall apart. So we decide some morning that we want to do something and go do it that day or else something else will come along and cancel those plans. My last plans were to go to my daughter's in Al. of course things "turned around" and it ended up they came up to ky, my son and his family came in an we all had a great time without doing anything etra. Just fishing here on the farm!

Sounds like such a fun trip. I love in an Asian city and my last fun trip with friends was to the fabric market here. It was completely disorganised - fabric everywhere, but lots of lovely batik to choose from. Thanks for this chance to win.
