I enjoy going to spend time with my grandma. The show is a great place to get ideas, tips, and new fabrics of course!!!

Also it helps me get thinking about all those projects I need to finish before starting new ones! :)

It would be great to be able to go to the show but I live all the way on the east coast but I am sure someone is going to be very happy when they win.

I would love to win Road 2 CA tickets. Thank you for this opportunity. I would love to win tickets for my grandmother and I. We attend many quilt shows together. We love shopping for fabrics, gadgets, patterns, new ideas/techniques. We are 4 generations of quilters. My mother and daughter also sew/quilt. But they are unable to attend this year. But I will share my fabrics with my daughter. We made make-up bags as a birthday gift for some of her friends. We love sewing/fabric!!!

How can one describe the experience of their very first quilting show they have ever attended? "Road to California".
Well it was intimidating to say the least, how can an experienced sewer ever accomplish somtheing like this?
How can one learn to do something this unique, authentic, surreal. Rows and rows and rows of colorful, symmetrical, asymmetrical, realistic, abstract, life like quilts. Some with flowers, trees, people, places, serene scenery, unknown objects all swirled in layers of material wrapped this way and that brought together by creative hands. So many selections of brightly colored hues, black and whites, red and whites, solids and stripes, all paired together with such distinctive pride and prescision. How can someone pair these items so well together and make them all work in such perfect harmony. With close inspection of these quilts one finds perfection in inperfection not every seam is aligned correctly, not every stitch is uniform, not every design flows perfectly, maybe this is what the magic of quilting truly is about? Inspired now to do great things, to do things that have been done, but only in my own fashion and fabrication. Oh how sweet inspiration, maybe there is hope for this first time quilter.

Road is my favorite quilt show. The vendors are great and it's not uncommon to make a new quilting discovery at Road. And the quilts...always outstanding.

Looking forward to this years show.

I am hoping that this post works this time. I have tried 3 times. OOPS?
I started quilting last year in January so I decided to go to the quilt show for the first time. Overwhelming is an understatement. I was hooked!! I have now completed a quilt for each of my immediate famil members. I am ready for the next level. I could use the free tickets to help me buy more items I need. There is always something. I am bringing my daughter and I am afraid that she will be hooked too. A good proplem right? Thank you and see you there!
