Countdown to Christmas giveaway

we're getting pretty close
to the night before the night before Christmas

it has been a great series of shares and comments
and recipes and hearing from all of you!
tomorrow I'll be able to make a great breakfast casserole
for guests
and I guess some of you learned something new
there is a thing out there called
a
breakfast casserole!!

tonite was the annual boat parade
and the annual lasagna and salad dinner party
(the boat parade isn't really a good phone pic event, I gotta say)
I wore my mother's big old fashioned brooch
tonite
it was my way of
'taking her to the party with me'
maybe it was my grandmother's
maybe it was my aunt's
maybe it was my mother's
brooch
I'm not sure
but what I am sure of
is that there was a little bit of extra sparkle
in my life tonite
because of their memory

we all have memories.
it's what we do with them that matters the most.
let's let those memories sparkle and shine.
instead of bringing a tear to our eye.

I wear my late mother in law's diamond earrings which she gave to me about two months before she passed. I miss her so much.

I have a pearl necklace and a crystal necklace that belonged to my Great Grandmother. I wear one or the other of them for special occasions. The boat parade sounds fun.

How fun to have a boat parade! And a special brooch to wear to the party. I love having my grandmothers strand of pearls that I can wear at the holiday season!
