Crazy as its sounds...... I have signed up for a trip to Europe with my sister !
I haven't been out of country since I was a girl, or traveled much while recovering from cancer.
Its an incredile leap for me : )

I have JUST decided to teach a beginning quilting class at my friend's ceramics/crafty shop in Covina. And I have a student already too! Wish me luck!!

I too have been teaching some sewing and quilting classes to young ladies that are so anxious to learn. We are having so much fun and they are so quick to learn. They are jumping faster then I anticipated. :)

I got married and moved to the town and house my husband lives in. Change is a challenge for me. My 10-year old daughter is my hero. She packed up, left the only home she's ever known, her friends, her ballet studio and has done so well integrating herself into a new school and area. We are learning new shopping locations and how to navigate our new area! :)

This is a big out of my comfort zone year ... I flew across the country (not a good flyer) for a 5 day quilting retreat with a group of friends found online ... and I'm doing it again in October! I also signed up for a workshop at Empty Spools in Asilomar for next year ... might as well start on that bucket list! Hope I win - that book's on my list, and the fabric's cute!

I have stepped out of my comfort zone by joining a paper piecing block of the month this year

I've stepped out of my comfort zone in two different ways...One was to try machine applique and the other was to do free motion quilting. Both are challenging to me, but with more practice I hope to master both!

I've moved across the country with my husband and two young sons. I joined the local quilt guild in my attempt to make some new friends.

I went way out of my comfort zone and took a commission for a laptop messenger bag. It took almost 5 months of samples and math and sketching and more math before I finished it yesterday.

I have been working on inset seams. My midnight at the Oasis quilt center was all inset seams. Used the seam ripper a million times

I'm trying to adjust to retirement and although I am so glad not to be working, I am not thrilled with my productivity. When I worked full-time I didn't get as much quilting done as I'd have liked, but I was much more disciplined and used my time wisely. Now not so much. I will try to do better.

I have a generalized and social anxiety that is HUGE. I am also kind of reclusive and rarely go much of anywhere. I have stepped out of my comfort zone this year to not only go somewhere new, around a bunch of strangers (physical therapy pool)but I also have to put my body out there for others to see unlike the way I usually hide it and stay faaaar away from people. It was really tough to go and I had a panic attack one day that luckily didn't last too long, but overall it's been a good experience. Either way, it sure beats having injections or back surgery! ;)

I booked a flight by myself to visit my children. I usually go with my husband. Thanks for the giveaway.

Changing from doing things by hand to a machine. Going from scissors to a rotary cutter, mat and ruler. Going from needle and thread to a sewing machine.

I was intimidated by hexies, until I received a set of hexie templates as a gift. I have made 150 hexie into a doll quilt for my niece.

Oh hey I hadn't realized you had a book, congratulations! I have stepped out of my comfort zone by initiating friendly overtures to a couple of women, in an effort to make more friends. It's my style to let extroverts ask me to hang out, so this is been a bit departure from my norm.

I finally joined my local quilt guild. It's fun meeting new people and seeing all their great projects.

I participated in the "Oldlympics" in our community in bench press, I had trained for about 9 months and was able to bench press 100 pounds for a record both for my age group and for the entire competition. This is the 1st time since I was a kid that I was involved in any type of competition. It was a good feeling and am now training to smash that record this September, My goal is 110 pounds.
I also did some appliqué, which is way out of my comfort zone.
Would love to win the book and fabric. Thanks for the giveaway.

My husband bought me a Gammill last November and this year I have been working on my FMQ. But I have also started working with rulers on my machine. Lots of fun, but definitely out of my comfort box. Thanks for the great giveaways.

out of my comfort zone? I took belly dancing classes! It's the only exercise class where a "mommy tummy" is something to be envied, since it jiggles more!

Sewing is out of my comfort zone. I'm starting to play with actual garments, rather than more simple projects. Also, we decided that my husband will now be a stay at home Dad...new lifestyle for my family. A little scary being the sole breadwinner, but it is working for us so far. bluefin711(at)yahoo(dot)com

I'm a teacher and I started teaching some online classes this year, so I've had lots of new technology adventures. Thanks for the chance to win this awesome fabric!

I started trying out new exercise fads in the gym. I have never done that before. I used to just do the basics.

I started sewing while my toddler was in the same room, also attempting to sew :P. It's a challenge, but somehow I am managing! (I still much prefer when she is in bed though!!)
