I'd go for the slick ones over sketchy ones more often than not, but it really depends on the mood of the pattern I'm working with.

I prefer slick graphic prints, but often combine them with the painterly fabrics. Actually, I'm a fabric addict!

I like both, but right now I have some graphic circles by Marcia Derse in a few different colors, and I am playing with the full circle vs individual curves. So far, it's looking good.

Wow! I was totally smitten with this new Tattoo pattern. It's saturated in colour!

I'm more a painterly gal but have been thinking lately I need to stretch my boundaries to some solids. Experiment a little.
