#sewPINK Initiative Blog Hop - byAnnie's Nesting Baskets

#SewPINK Blog Hop

caution:  Nesting Baskets; you can't make just one!!!

It is my honor to be a part of the #SewPINK Initiative
Blog Hop
2021

But the big thank you's go out this month to
www.byannie.com
"Our goals were to raise awareness, encourage people to get their screenings, come together as a community, and donate to breast cancer research. We believe breast cancer awareness is important all year. Although we emphasize awareness in October (Breast Cancer Awareness Month), our continuous goal is to provide resources and awareness year-round."

It's time to make that appointment for your screening!

I asked Annie and her team if I could make
Nesting Baskets
For this set of baskets, I used Our House fabrics
by Windham Fabrics (coming to shops this Spring)
and a light grey variegated Aurifil 50 wt thread.
Wonder Clips are very helpful, as are sharp scissors for precise circle cutting.

First, let me tell you just a few things about this pattern.

1.  Your best success will be to use Soft and Stable from byAnnie
WARNING:  At first glance, you think opening the package is going to be like
opening one of those new queen size mattresses that come in a small box
Let go of that idea.
It is a GREAT product, and yes, you can fold it back up and get it back in the bag.
It's easy to accurately cut with a rotary cutter.
It WILL compress when stitched.
(I do sew on a Janome HD-9, but no special heavy duty machine is really required)
Soft and Stable is magic stuff.
If you use byAnnie's Soft and Stable, you will have great results!

2.  Be sure to read all instructions.
WARNING:  Falling asleep at night imagining how to make these nesting baskets
is not going to help you figure out how to make these.
And guessing at the dimensions and what goes where is just not the right approach.
As my minister once said in a sermon,
"If all else fails, read instructions."
And this pattern is full of great information.
Just follow the detailed step by step instructions -I promise, these are easy to make.

3.  Be ready to make more than one set of these Baskets.
WARNING:  Once you've made the first of three, you'll be ready for more, more, more!!!
They get easier with every one that you make.
And while you're sewing, you start thinking of all of the different
"themed fabrics" you can use to make these.
Halloween!!!!
Hanukkah.
Christmas.
New Baby.
Neutral Low Volume Prints for home decor!!!!

Let me just tell you, you can EASILY make a set of these in an afternoon.
And they would be a wonderful gift to give, and to receive!!!
(see offer after signature line)

Finally, let me just remind you -
Follow the hashtag #SewPINK on social media. byAnnie's has exciting things planned!
